Black Widow Society
Logline
A group of women who literally hunt registered sex offenders meets their match when they kidnap an innocent man determined to put a stop to their insanity.
Synopsis
Lance Ritter is an ordinary college kid who wants to have fun while pursuing a degree. When he meets Morgan, he thinks he has met the perfect young woman to hang around with, until he discovers through her dad that she’s not really the 21-year-old she has pretended to be, complete with a realistic looking fake ID. Instead, she’s only 16 faking her way as an adult. Her dad refuses to believe Lance really didn’t know and coerces Morgan to go long with the lie that Lance raped a minor.
While Lance is completely innocent, his lawyer urges him to take a plea deal for a lesser charge to avoid conviction and serious jail time. The judge, who is notorious for her stand against men who abuse women, sentences Lance to 6 months in jail, along with community service. He will also be registered as a sex offender.
Upon release from prison, Lance stays with his brother Jason and family until the locals terrorize him and place his family in danger. Once Lance gets his own house, he meets sultry Amber, who lives up the street. The two hit it off and spend an evening sharing pizza and beer, only there’s one problem - she has spiked his beer and he passes out.
Lance awakens inside the closet of an abandoned factory on a large piece of wooded land. Amber is a member of Black Widow Society, a secret group of vigilantes who kidnap sexual predators from the area, castrate them, and then turn them loose on the property while they hunt them like animals. Along with Amber is Carol - a detective, Lacey - a therapist who deals with victims of abuse, and Margo - a wealthy wife and mom. All bear the tattoo of a black widow on the back of their shoulders.
The group also has Harold in their custody. He was accused of molesting his young daughters and let out of prison too soon. He has already undergone the surgery and will soon be hunted. When the women attempt to operate on Lance, he breaks free and flees with Harold. The women do what they do best - hunt them down.
Only they have never encountered a target as sly as Lance. He locates a place for the men to hide after Harold has been wounded by an arrow. When Carol’s girlfriend arrives late one night, Lance accidentally kills her, enraging Carol even more.
Just as Lacey has the men trapped with Amber present, Lance pleads his innocence and Amber believes him. She kills Lacey and goes on the run with Lance. Harold is exposed as a fraud and Lance is forced to kill him. Just as Jason has tracked his brother down, he falls to a gunshot wound, followed by Lance. Carol doesn’t hesitate to kill Amber for betraying her but just as she is ready to finish Lance, Margo comes to his rescue. There is one piece of unfinished business left for Lance - the judge who was masterminding the whole thing. After he gets a forced confession from her, she is taken away to prison where she belongs.
